About Nectary

Nectary is a plain-language guide to bitcoin for people who want to understand it before deciding anything about it.

Most bitcoin writing is either loud or technical. Nectary aims for the middle ground: careful sentences, arithmetic you can follow, and enough patience to explain why a rule matters.

We believe the most useful thing a beginner can receive is an accurate map, including the parts of the map that are uncertain.

Why the name

A nectary is the gland inside a flower that makes nectar. It is small, easy to miss, and it rewards the visitor who looks closely. That is how we want readers to approach this subject: close, unhurried, and specific.
